Read a sample in Japaneseそらのてっぺんなんかつめたくてつめたくてまるでカチカチのやきをかけた鋼です。そして星がいっぱいです。けれども東の空はもうやさしいききょうの花びらのようにあやしい底光りをはじめました。その明け方の空の下、ひるの鳥でもゆかない高いところをするどい霜のかけらが風に流されてサラサラサラサラ南のほうへとんでゆきました。じつにそのかすかな音が丘の上の一本いちょうの木に聞こえるくらいすみきった明け方です。いちょうの実はみんないちどに目をさましました。そしてドキッとしたのです。きょうこそはたしかに旅だちの日でした。みんなも前からそう思っていましたし、きのうの夕方やってきた二わのカラスもそういいました。「ぼくなんか落ちるとちゅうで目がまわらないだろうか。」一つの実がいいました。「よく目をつぶっていけばいいさ。」も一つが答えました。「そうだ。わすれていた。ぼく水とうに水をつめておくんだった。」
