What changed in this version: the Shogun tier description no longer mentions high-priority AI access, which the Service never provided. Shogun includes everything in Samurai with a larger monthly credit allowance. Your rights, the pricing and the way the Service works are unchanged. Version 2.0.0 (September 15, 2026) moved the operation of the Service to Redmoon Systems OÜ (Estonia) from a French sole proprietorship.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Yomimaru application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service" or "App"). The Service is operated by Redmoon Systems OÜ, a private limited company (osaühing) registered in Estonia under registry code 17506382, with its registered address at Ruunaoja tn 3, Lasnamäe linnaosa, Tallinn, Harju maakond 11415, Estonia ("Redmoon", "Company", "we", "us", or "our"). Yomimaru is a product of Redmoon Systems OÜ; the company's website is redmoon.red.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you do not have permission to access the Service.
1. User Accounts & Obligations
1.1. Account Creation: You must provide a valid email address and your display name to use certain features. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials (via Firebase Auth) and for any activities or actions under your account.
1.2. Acceptable Use: You may not use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. You must not, in the use of the Service, violate any laws in your jurisdiction.
1.3. Copyright of Imported Content: Users can import their own reading materials into their library. You are solely and explicitly responsible for ensuring you own or hold the necessary rights and permissions (including copyright) for any text, document, or material you import into the Service. We accept no liability for copyright infringement caused by user-imported content.
2. Subscription Tiers & Credits
Yomimaru offers a tiered subscription model, managed via Stripe:
- Ronin (Free): Includes 5 monthly AI credits, limited imports, and basic access.
- Samurai ($9.99/mo): Includes 500 monthly AI credits, unlimited imports, and custom lists.
- Shogun ($19.99/mo): Includes 2000 monthly AI credits and everything in Samurai.
2.1. Credit Rollover Rules: Unused monthly subscription AI credits roll over to the next month but are strictly hard-capped at 2× the monthly allotment of your current tier (e.g., a Samurai user can never accumulate more than 1000 rollover subscription credits).
2.2. One-Time Credit Packs: Additional AI credits purchased via one-time packs (e.g., "Rice Sack" or "Treasure Chest") never expire and bypass the monthly rollover cap. They remain in your account until consumed.
3. Free Trial Provisions
3.1. Eligibility: We offer a 14-day free trial on the Shogun tier. Eligibility is strictly limited to users currently on the free Ronin tier who have never had a prior paid subscription (i.e., no prior Stripe subscription history with Yomimaru).
3.2. Conversion: Unless canceled before the end of the 14-day trial period, the trial will automatically convert into a paid, recurring subscription at the selected plan's rate, billed monthly or annually according to the billing period you chose at checkout.
4. Payment, Cancellation & Refunds
4.1. Billing: Subscriptions are billed in advance, on either a monthly or an annual basis, according to the billing period you select at checkout.
4.2. Cancellations: You may cancel your subscription at any time through the in-app cancellation flow in your account settings. Cancellations take effect at the exact end of your current billing cycle. You will retain premium access until that date, after which your account will be downgraded to the Ronin (Free) tier.
4.3. Refunds: All purchases, including subscription fees and one-time credit pack top-ups, are non-refundable. We do not provide partial or full refunds.
4.4. Tier Changes: Upgrades take effect immediately. The unused portion of your current plan is credited against the higher tier and you are billed the prorated difference at once. Downgrades are not prorated: you keep your current tier and its benefits until the end of the billing cycle you have already paid for, and the lower rate applies from the next cycle onward. No proration credit or refund is issued for a downgrade.
5. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach the Terms or import copyrighted material without authorization. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content (excluding content imported by users), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of the Company and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of Estonia, the European Union, and foreign countries.
7. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the Company, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; (iii) any content obtained from the Service; and (iv) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence) or any other legal theory.
8. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
8.1. Governing Law: These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Estonia and the applicable law of the European Union, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
8.2. Dispute Resolution: In the event of a dispute, you agree to first attempt to resolve the issue informally by contacting us. If a resolution cannot be reached, the dispute shall be submitted to the courts of Estonia, with Harju County Court (Harju Maakohus) as the court of first instance.
8.3. EU Consumers: If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you additionally benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are resident. You may also access the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
