This Refund & Cancellation Policy outlines the rules and procedures for managing subscriptions, free trials, credit packs, and payments on the Yomimaru application ("Service"). The Service is operated by Redmoon Systems OÜ, a private limited company (osaühing) registered in Estonia under registry code 17506382, with its registered address at Ruunaoja tn 3, Lasnamäe linnaosa, Tallinn, Harju maakond 11415, Estonia ("Redmoon", "Company", "we", "us", or "our"). Yomimaru is a product of Redmoon Systems OÜ; the company's website is redmoon.red.
By purchasing a subscription or credit pack on Yomimaru, you agree to the terms laid out in this policy.
1. Cancellations
We believe in making it easy to manage your subscription. You can cancel your premium subscription (Samurai or Shogun tiers) at any time.
1.1. How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription directly within the app using the Cancellation Modal located in your account settings. We offer a self-service cancellation workflow, meaning you do not need to email support to process a cancellation.
1.2. Grace Periods and End of Billing Cycle
When you cancel your subscription, the cancellation is configured to take effect at the end of your current billing cycle (cancel_at_period_end). This means:
- You will not be charged again on your next billing date.
- You will retain full access to your premium tier's features and AI credits until the exact end of your current billing cycle.
- After the billing cycle ends, your account will be automatically downgraded to the free Ronin tier.
1.3. Retention Offers
Before processing your cancellation, our system may present you with exclusive retention offers, such as:
- A downgrade option from Shogun to Samurai.
- A promotional discount (e.g., 50% off for 3 months) for Samurai users.
Accepting a retention offer will modify your upcoming billing cycle according to the terms presented in the offer.
2. Refunds
2.1. Non-Refundable Purchases
All purchases made on Yomimaru are strictly final. All purchases and credit pack top-ups are non-refundable. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
We do not provide automated, partial, or full refunds for:
- Monthly subscription fees (even if you cancel immediately after renewal).
- Unused AI credits from subscriptions or one-time credit packs (e.g., "Rice Sack" or "Treasure Chest").
- Accidental purchases or forgotten subscription renewals following a free trial.
2.2. Exceptions (EU Consumers)
Under EU consumer protection laws, you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online digital content purchases. However, by accessing the premium features and utilizing AI credits immediately after your purchase, you expressly consent to the immediate provision of the digital content and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the download or streaming of the digital content has begun.
3. Proration and Tier Changes
If you choose to change your subscription tier in the middle of a billing cycle, upgrades and downgrades are handled differently.
- Upgrades: Our payment processor (Stripe) automatically calculates the prorated difference. The unused portion of your current plan will be credited toward the cost of the new, higher-tier plan. You will be billed the difference immediately, and your new tier will take effect right away.
- Downgrades: Downgrades are not prorated. Your current tier and its benefits remain active until the end of the billing cycle you have already paid for, and the new, lower rate applies from the next cycle onward. No credit or refund is issued for the price difference.
4. Free Trials
We offer a 14-day free trial on our Shogun tier for eligible new users.
- You will be required to provide payment information to start the trial.
- Unless you cancel before the 14-day trial period ends, your payment method will be automatically charged for the recurring subscription at the selected plan's rate, billed monthly or yearly according to the billing period you chose at checkout (e.g., $19.99/mo or $191.88/yr for Shogun).
- To avoid being charged, you must cancel your subscription via the in-app settings prior to the end of the 14th day.
