新しんちゃんは腰こしに長ながいものさしをさし、片方かたほうの目めをつぶって、片方かたほうの手てをうしろにかくしながら、頭あたまをちょっとかしげて、みんながお話はなしをしているところへ、いばって出でてきました。「いいか、よらばきるぞ？」と、いいました。「なあに？　新しんちゃん、それは、なんのまねなの？」と、お母かあさんがおっしゃいました。「ねえ、お母かあさん、タンゲサゼンのまねをしているのですよ。」と、兄にいさんの徳いさおちゃんが、いいました。「どこでそんなもの見みてきた？」と、お父とうさんがおわらいになりました。新しんちゃんはそんなことには答こたえないで、さっとものさしをひきぬいてふりまわしていました。「また、一いち人にんきったぞ。」といって、とくいでいました。「まあ、ほんとに困こまってしまいますこと。」と、お母かあさんはおっしゃいました。「お母かあさん、チンドン屋やがこんなまねをしてくるのですよ。」そういって兄にいさんは、「おれはそんなばかなことはしないぞ。
