目下もっか、僕ぼくは毎日まいにち、Ｒ撮影さつえい所しょへ通とおって、仕事しごとをしている。そして、毎まい昼ひる、うどんを食くっている。此の撮影さつえい所しょは、かなり辺鄙へんぴな土地とちにあるので、食くいもの屋やも、碌ろくに無ない。だから、一番いちばん安心あんしんして食くえるのは、うどんだと思おもって、昼食ちゅうしょくには、必かならず、うどん。そのせいか、大変たいへん、腹はら具合ぐあいはいい。そばも食くいそうなものだが、僕ぼくは、そばってものは嫌きらい。嫌きらいと言いうよりも、そばを食くうとたちまち下痢げりする。子供こどもの頃ころは、そんなことは、なかったんだが二に十じゅう代だいから、そうなった。だから、江戸えどっ子この癖くせに、そばが食くえない。従したがって、僕ぼくの食しょく談だんには、そばに関かんすることは、殆んど出でて来こないのである。ヘンなもので、同業どうぎょうエノケン、榎本えのもと健一けんいち君くんが、大変たいへんな、そば嫌きらいである。彼かれは、先天的せんてんてきの、そば嫌悪けんお症しょうらしく、初恋はつこいの女性じょせいが、そばを好このんだために、彼かれは、彼女かのじょを、あきらめてしまったという話はなしがある位くらいだ。

Cultural notes

Udon VarietiesThe text mentions several types of udon: おかめ (okame, with fish cake and vegetables), 卵とじ (tamago toji, egg drop), 鴨南蛮 (kamo nanban, duck and leek), 鍋焼 (nabe yaki, pot-cooked), カレーうどん (curry udon), きつねうどん (kitsune udon, with fried tofu), and たぬき (tanuki, with tempura bits).
