良りょうちゃんは、お姉ねえさんの持もっている、銀ぎんのシャープ＝ペンシルがほしくてならなかったのです。けれど、いくらねだっても、お姉ねえさんは、「どうして、こればかしは、あげられますものか。」と、いわぬばかりな顔かおつきをして、うんとはおっしゃらなかったのでした。お姉ねえさんは、良りょうちゃんをかわいがっていました。英すぐるちゃんや、義雄よしおさんよりも、かわいがっていました。それは、良りょうちゃんはまだ小ちいさくて、やっと今年ことしから学校がっこうへ上あがったばかりなのですもの。「お姉ねえさん、その光ひかった、鉛筆えんぴつをおくれよ。」と、また思おもい出だしたように、お姉ねえさんのところへやってきました。いままでにも、だめといったのが、無理むりに頼たのめば、しまいにはきいてもらえたので、シャープ＝ペンシルにしても、いつか自分じぶんのものになると思おもったからです。「こればかりは、だめよ。」と、お姉ねえさんは、おっしゃいました。「だめ？　じゃ、ちょっと僕ぼくに見みせておくれよ。
