暗闇くらやみの中なかの声こえ奇き賊ぞく烏からす啼天てん駆かと探偵たんてい袋ぶくろ猫ねこ々の睨にらみ合あいも久ひさしいものである。この勝負しょうぶは一向いっこうかたづかないままに、秋あきを送おくり、この冬ふゆを迎むかえた。ところがここに袋ふくろ探偵たんていは、一ひとつの手柄てがらをたてた。いや幸運こううんを掴つかんだといった方ほうがいいかも知しれない。というのは、今いまから三さん日にち前まえの夜よる、虎とらノ門もん公園こうえん地ち内ないでのだんまり一幕ひとまく。かれ猫ねこ々は、その夜よるすっかり酔よっぱらってあそこを通とおりかかったが、どうにも身体しんたいが思おもうようにならず、そこでしばらく時間じかんをやり過すごすことにして、ふらふらと足あしを踏ふみこんだのがあの公園こうえん。亭ちんのあるところまで行いきつかないうちに力ちからが抜ぬけてしまい、どんと尻餅しりもちをついてそのままと相成あいなったのが、入口いりぐちから入はいったすぐのところの八やつ手での葉はかげ。そこですっかり身体しんたいが安定あんていしてしまって、ぐっすり睡ねむ込こんだ。――と思おもったら、たちまち夢ゆめを破やぶられた。何者なにものとも知しれず、十じゅう歩ほ位いでとんで行いけそうなすぐ傍はたで左右さゆうに分わかれて睨にらみあったる二に組くみの人影ひとかげ。
