大正たいしょう七なな八はち年ねん比ひのことであった。横須賀よこすか航空こうくう隊たいのＮ大尉たいいとＳ中尉ちゅういは、それぞれ陸上りくじょう偵察ていさつ機きを操縦そうじゅうしてＡ飛行場ひこうじょうに向むけて長距離ちょうきょり飛行ひこうを行おこない、目的もくてき地ちに到いた著いちじるして機き翼つばさをやすめるひまもなく、直ただちに帰還きかんの途とについた。両機りょうきは一いち千せん米まいの高度こうどを保たもちながら雁行がんこうしていたが、箱根はこねの上空じょうくうにさしかかったところで、密雲みつうんのために視界しかいを遮さえぎられたうえに、エアーポケットに入はいって機体きたいが烈はげしい勢いきおいで落下らっかした。そして、二に百ひゃく米まいばかりも落下らっかして、やっと危険きけんを脱だっしたので、Ｎ大尉たいいはやや安心あんしんして僚機きの方ほうを見みたが、僚機きの姿すがたは見みえなかった。Ｎ大尉たいいは己おのれでも危険きけんに遭遇そうぐうしているので、もしや彼かれの時ときにどうかしたのではないかと思おもってＳ中尉ちゅういの身みの上うえを心配しんぱいしいしい帰かえって来きた。それで著ちょ陸りくするなり、機体きたいの手入ていれも忘わすれて西にしの方ほうばかり見みていた。と、二に十じゅう分ふんばかりして僚機きの姿すがたが夕暮ゆうぐれの空そらに見みえて来きた。Ｎ大尉たいいはほっとして僚機きの著ちょ陸りくするやいなや駈かけて往って、Ｓ大尉たいいの手てを執とった。
